The Trainer

The training will be delivered by Jean-Luc Dupont.

Jean-Luc does more than teach the MBTI — he brings it to life. A certified MBTI trainer (Step I and II), he has continuously deepened his expertise through conferences, masterclasses and additional certifications (Contextual Coaching, ActionTypes…).

Passionate about how people function, he has developed two strengths that are widely recognised wherever he works:

  • Explaining the MBTI in a clear and engaging way, using examples that resonate with everyone.

  • Building bridges between people so they understand one another better and collaborate in a more constructive and effective way.
Jean-Luc Dupont - leadership trainer for managers

His approach goes beyond theory. Jean-Luc places strong emphasis on practical applications of the MBTI. His aim is not simply for participants to discover their profile, but to truly experience it, make it their own, and see the range of possibilities it opens up.

His book « Vous êtes unique, vos interlocuteurs aussi. Collaborer efficacement et vivre en harmonie avec tous les types de personnalité » reflects this philosophy. After a clear and example-rich introduction, it offers an extensive overview of the practical applications of the MBTI, bringing together years of experience dedicated to a better understanding of oneself and others.

The strengths of our MBTI® training

Dynamic, engaging facilitation

The training is built around games, practical exercises and the sharing of real-life situations.

The trainer takes all the time needed to answer participants’ questions. And in MBTI training, there are usually plenty of them.

Practical applications

Knowing the profiles is a good start. Knowing what you can do with them is even better. Knowing how to apply them is better still.

The training is designed with this objective in mind and is structured around our book: "You Are Unique, and So Are the People You Interact With". This book is the result of all the experience we have developed through supporting our participants over the years.

A strong focus on profile validation

Some people (often unconsciously) answer the MBTI questionnaire in a way that does not fully reflect their true profile. This is why the MBTI trainers’ ethical code requires us never to rely solely on questionnaire results, but to support each participant in validating their profile through a series of in-depth questions (see the FAQ for more information).

Easier said than done, you might think.

That is precisely why we have developed strong expertise in this area — the result of 20 years of practice and ongoing professional development. This level of quality is what ensures the value of your training.

Answers to all your questions

  • We have genuine expertise in the MBTI®.
  • Bring your questions — we will be happy to answer them.

Flexibility to meet your needs

  • We can easily adapt the topics covered during the training to address your specific needs.
  • Each programme begins with a discussion with you to clearly identify those needs.

An expert trainer

  • Jean-Luc Dupont, your trainer, has around twenty years of experience delivering MBTI training.
  • He has trained in a range of complementary tools (Contextual Coaching, Action Types, etc.) to help participants fully understand and accurately validate their profile.
  • He is the author of a book dedicated to practical MBTI® applications.
  • He has developed a unique expertise in understanding the strengths and potential challenges arising from interactions between all MBTI® profiles.

FAQ

The MBTI® (Myers & Briggs Type Indicator®) is a tool designed to help people better understand different personality types.

It supports greater self-awareness and helps clarify how we react, communicate, work, and lead.

It also improves the quality of relationships by offering practical insights into individual differences.

Many workplace tensions simply stem from misunderstandings.

For example:

  • “He’s too direct”,
  • “She’s too emotional”,
  • “I never understand what he’s trying to say”,
  • “She blocks every change”…

In reality, most of the time this is not about bad intentions, but about differences in personality.

MBTI® training helps people recognise these differences and understand them more clearly.

When colleagues realise that others simply operate differently, relationships tend to ease. Communication becomes clearer, collaboration more fluid, and people are better equipped to deal with everyday challenges.

Better self-awareness leads to better teamwork.

The MBTI® can be applied to:

  • Adapting communication to different audiences.
  • Reducing misunderstandings and collaboration issues between colleagues, and improving team cohesion.
  • Conflict management.
  • Change management.
  • Leadership development.
  • Stress management.
  • Professional skills development.
  • Improving coaching effectiveness.
  • Sports coaching (Action Types®).

Yes. The MBTI® training begins with completion of the official MBTI® questionnaire and discovery of the participant’s profile.

You may choose between a paper-based or online questionnaire. A brief or extended report can be provided (the MBTI® Personal Impact Report).

No.

This is a criticism sometimes directed at MBTI® training.

We actively avoid this by:

  • Emphasising that the MBTI® type reflects only one part of personality: innate preferences. Acquired aspects (education, life experiences, beliefs, life patterns, etc.) and life circumstances play a key role in how people function, evolve, and respond.

  • Structuring the training around Jung’s approach, on which the MBTI® is based. This dynamic perspective takes into account personal development over time, as well as sometimes unexpected reactions under stress. It does not aim to fix individuals into a type, but to shed light on deeper underlying mechanisms.

A significant number of participants experience uncertainty about their profile.

This may be due to several factors:

  • Difficulty becoming aware of their own preferences,

  • A transitional period in life,

  • An advanced stage in the individuation process (a Jungian term referring to people who have developed functions beyond their innate preferences),

  • “Falsification”, when someone has unconsciously learned to rely on non-preferred functions to meet parental or social expectations,

  • Difficulty distinguishing between deep motivations (Action Types®) and preferences (MBTI®)…

This is precisely our area of expertise: supporting these participants through guided questioning, practical applications, and complementary models to help them identify their profile.

In the vast majority of cases, participants are able to identify and validate their profile during the two-day programme. For some, further reflection after the training is needed to complete this process.

Yes, absolutely.

We offer MBTI® Step II training, including completion of the official questionnaire.

The content is then tailored to explore in depth the facets of your personality type as revealed by Step II.

MBTI® Step I is a questionnaire designed to identify your cognitive preferences (Extraversion, Introversion, etc.). These preferences form the basis of the 16 personality types.

Step II adds behavioural patterns, known as facets, to these preferences. Each preference pair includes five facets.

Some people are drawn to MBTI® Step II in the hope of identifying their profile more reliably.

In our experience, complementary approaches to the MBTI®—such as Interaction Styles (Linda Berens), Action Types®, and reactions to conflict or change—are far more effective in helping participants identify and validate their profile.

Contrary to a common misconception, MBTI® Step II training is not more advanced than the standard MBTI training (Step I).
